ARTISAN DISTILLATES

Quality, not Quantity

The Alchemist

Mattia Regazzoni, born in 1987;

born as a Chef and transformed into an Alchemist in 2018.

Starting from Liquors and Jams I continued towards Distillation following the family tradition.

After 6 generations of distillers I "overturned" the tradition by becoming the first Rum distiller in Ticino, in addition I decided to continue creating unusual products: Gin, Absinthe, Bourbon, Grand Marnier, etc.

Looking to the future I do not intend to become commercial, I want to raise the quality of craftsmanship to finally have top quality products in our canton as per the motto:

Quality, not Quantity.

Peculiarità

Alambicco Centenario

The still mainly used in my preparations appears to have been built in 1900, a true piece of history that gives an unmistakable taste to the distillations.

The second still present is younger, dating back to 1987 but highly functional, both stills are made for direct distillation using the open flame as a heat source.

Ticino Tradition

Distillation in Ticino has been practiced since time immemorial with a series of associated rituals, from the fermentation of the raw material to the meeting in the still and the comparison between various distillers discussing techniques, local facts and past vintages.

I hope to be able to recreate a historical setting and preserve this little piece of our history.

Generations of Distillers

Thanks to my Father I can boast an uninterrupted line of 6 generations of distillers, first in the Cassina family and then in the Regazzoni family, I spent my childhood being told how Pregassona was once, with its still that used a fountain to the vines cultivated by my Grandfather and the traditions of Grappa distillation that were practiced at the time.

Recognized Products

A few years ago I started to have my products evaluated at a professional level and to my joy and surprise I started to collect some medals: from the silver of Rum in 2023 to the Bronze of Gin in 2024, I continue to keep the quality high and I personally aim to have every Alchemist product with at least one associated award.

Alchemy

The Philosophy

Nestled on a hill with an enviable view, my lab is a place where craftsmanship, quality and taste are at the forefront of everything we do. From carefully selected ingredients to the meticulous distillation process, I take pride in every step of production.

The result is a range of spirits that are not only delicious, but also reflect a passion for the art of distilling.

The appearance of the bottles is also taken care of with unique labels and a mini-tradition of Shellac seals that began in 2018 together with the first liqueurs.
